Level 1 Health & Safety Award in the Workplace

This is a half day course which will provide an awareness of the key health and safety issues including the part you should play in keeping yourself and others free from harm at work. The course will help you understand the importance of health and safety in the workplace, the scope of hazards and risks, a range of workplace conditions that can affect health and safety and the requirements relating to reporting, first aid, personal protection and personal hygiene.

Level 2 Health & Safety Award

A One day course which is designed to provide essential knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety for both employees and employers, working in any sector of industry. Employers have the responsibility to provide safe and healthy workplace conditions as well as systems and methods of work. The course will provide candidates with a good understanding of the health and safety requirements placed on employers and employees, hazards and risks and the main causes of harm to workers, health, safety and welfare provision in the workplace, importance of following safe systems of work, hazards and controls in respect of safety and occupational health risks, how their own actions can reduce the risks to health and safety.

Level 2 Principles of COSHH

This course is a half day course and will benefit anyone working with hazardous substances in a workplace and focuses on the information employees need to know regarding substance hazards and their control. The course will enable candidates to understand the scope of hazardous substances in the workplace, the range of legislation covering hazardous substances, how hazardous substances adversely affect health, methods of identification for hazardous substances, sources of guidance available, range of control measures available for the safe usage, the purpose and content of COSHH assessments.

Level 2 Manual Handling

Half day course introducing candidates to the hazards and risks involved in manual handling, candidates will have a good understanding of terminology relating to manual handling and give examples, injuries caused through poor manual handling, principles for controlling manual handling and the application of these, purpose of conducting manual handling risk assessments and how they benefit both company and employee, law relating to manual handling.

Pet First Aid

A half day course : Aim of the course, The vet and your role in first aid, keeping your pet safe in an emergency, car accidents, pet proofing your home, communication and care of your pet, how pets show pain, checking your pet’s health, restraint of a pet in need and the use of a muzzle, breathing and respiratory problems.

Canine First Aid

A half day course : Aim of the course, The vet and your role in first aid, keeping your pet safe in an emergency, car accidents, dog proofing your home, communication and care of your pet, how pets show pain, checking your dogs health, restraint of a pet in need and the use of a muzzle, breathing and respiratory problems.

Equestrian First Aid at Work

A three-day course: Aims of the First Aider, AED Training, Amputation, Anaphylaxis, Angina, Asthma, Bleeding, Burns, Chest Injury, Choking, CPR, Croup, Crush Injury, Diabetes, Drowning, Epilepsy, Eye Injury, Electrocution, Fainting, Fears of First Aid, Febrile Convulsions, First Aid at Work Rules and Regulations, First Aid Kits, Fractures, Frostbite, Head Injuries, Heart Attack, Heat Exhaustion, Heat Stroke, Hyperventilation, Hypothermia, Heat and Cold Emergencies, Horse Safety, Helmet removal, Internal Bleeding, Poisoning, Recovery Position, Resuscitation, Seizures, Shock, Spinal Injury, Sprains and Strains, Stroke, Types of Wounds, Unconsciousness and Record Keeping First aid courses.

Security Dog First Aid

Full day course. This course is approved by NASDU for the requirement of pet first aid in their standards.  First aid is important to know for your security dog not only to comply with associations and local authorities but also for animal welfare and to help a dog in need.  The nature of working with dogs will pose a risk that they may be harmed in the course of their work or transport.
